Distracted driving is everywhere. It is also incredibly dangerous and the cause of many of the car wrecks that you have in your office. Conservative estimates from NHTSA are that distracted driving causes 10 deaths and more than 10,000 injuries a day. In this program you will learn how to find and prove distracted driving and how to use it to significantly increase the value of your client’s case.
Steven Gursten is the current Chair of the American Association for Justice Distracted Driving Litigation Group. In this program, Steve will cover:
How to identify and use evidence of distracted driving in your cases.
Using evidence of distracted driving as a major driver of case value.
Theories of liability
Proof and Admissibility
In addition to speaking to legal associations throughout the country on proving distracted driving, Steve has also talked with hundreds of high school students and parent groups throughout Michigan to educate them about the dangers of driving distracted as part of the EndDD campaign.
Steve’s law firm, Michigan Auto Law, sponsors the Kelsey’s Law Distracted Driving Awareness Scholarship in partnership with Bonnie Raffaele, who’s daughter Kelsey was tragically killed as a result of distracted driving and for whom both the distracted driving law in Michigan and the scholarship are named.
