Michigan Association for Justice Endorses Richard Bernstein for Supreme Court
LANSING — Today, the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) announced their endorsement of attorney Richard Bernstein for Michigan Supreme Court. Bernstein is seeking one of two 8-year seats on the Court.
“Richard respects the rule of law and legal precedent,” said Scott A. Goodwin, president of MAJ. “He has spent his life fighting for those who needed a strong voice. His experience in the courtroom winning landmark cases will make him one of the more experienced litigators on the court.”
Richard Bernstein received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Northwestern University Law School. He has as spent the last 15 years protecting the rights of people with disabilities and has relentlessly pursued justice for this underserved community. Bernstein is an internationally recognized advocate for disability rights.
“We are very proud to endorse Richard,” Goodwin continued. “We know he will be a justice who listens. His addition will ensure fairness, making sure that the voices of everyday Michiganders are heard, and not just those of the powerful special interests.”
The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ), formerly the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association (MTLA) is a trade association of over 1,600 plaintiff's attorneys and staff, it aims to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in Michigan’s courtrooms.
