12th Annual Heads Up for Safety Day to Give Bike Helmets to Kids
Local groups sponsor bike helmet safety day in Lansing.
LANSING — On Saturday, May 17, the 12th Annual Heads Up for Safety Day will take place at the Marshall Street Fire Station in Lansing, Michigan. Children attending the event will receive a free helmet and fitting while supplies last. This annual event is sponsored by the Sinas Dramis Law Firm, Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center, Michigan Association for Justice, and WLAJ.
Over the years the Heads Up for Safety event has given away thousands of helmets to kids in the Lansing area.
“If we can prevent one serious head injury we will have done our job,” said George T. Sinas, senior partner at the Sinas Dramis Law Firm.
Along with the free helmets attendees can get minor bike repairs done by SPIN Bicycle Shop, ride their bikes through the obstacle course designed by the CFT-Sinas Dramis Bike Racing Team. The event will also feature a drawing to win a free bike, an opportunity to tour the fire station and meet the firefighters, live music performed by Chip Christy and a chance to meet local celebrities like Sparty.
