Each year, powerful forces spend millions lobbying in Lansing against the rights of Michigan citizens and the integrity of the state’s civil justice system.
For more than two decades, MAJ’s Justice PAC (JPAC) has been Michigan’s most effective and respected PACs by fighting against these unfair legislative tactics—keeping justice alive for the families and individuals who need it most.
JPAC works on behalf of members and their clients to ensure candidates who support the goals of MAJ have the resources and tools to be elected and re-elected. JPAC also helps candidates know and understand the issues that are of concern to MAJ members and their clients.
It is vitally important that every trial attorney in Michigan join this courageous effort to protect the safety and well-being of Michigan’s citizens. Consider how your clients and their families would be impacted if those that strive to put profit before safety are successful.
While many clients will never know how their safety is put at risk each year, it is critically important that the trial lawyers who represent them know what is at stake, and do their part to protect and defend the safety of Michiganders.

JPAC Donation FAQ
I already contribute to the candidate(s) of my choice. Why do I need Justice PAC?
Individual contributions to candidates are important, but they cannot compete with the contributions of big business, health care interests, or the insurance industry—all of which have their own PACs.
When we cumulate contributions from members through Justice PAC, we are able to make substantial contributions to strategically targeted races. Legally, Justice PAC is able to make contributions far larger than the legal limit for individual contributions.
Justice PAC can therefore have a greater impact on races important to trial lawyers and tort victims than any individual contribution.
Where does the money that I contribute go?
Justice PAC supports Michigan legislative, judicial and gubernatorial candidates, both Democratic and Republican.
Who decides which candidates receive Justice PAC support?
Contributions to candidates are made on approval of the 15-member JPAC Board. Decisions on individual candidates are based on their support of the civil justice system. Criteria include voting records, committee assignments, electability, and candidate interviews.
How may I contribute to JPAC?
Justice PAC utilizes two methods of collection:
- Charge your contribution to your PERSONAL Visa, Mastercard or American Express account. Billing will occur on a monthly or yearly basis.
- Request monthly or annual invoicing.
What about corporate contributions?
Justice PAC cannot, by law, accept corporate contributions.
What happens when I decide to cancel my contributions?
Your JPAC commitment is revocable at will. A call to the MAJ office will terminate your participation.
